Humanoid robots are increasingly being used to assist in therapies – such as interactive autism therapies for children. A Neuroinformatics research group has now developed an application that enables the humanoid robot NAO to assist in the therapy of stuttering among children. Stuttering not only often leads to difficulties in school but can create complexes and social anxiety. With the new software application “Echo Therapy”, robot NAO could help children gain confidence among their classmates.
